Under the patronage of H. E. Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of State for Defense Affairs, and in the presence of H. E. Lt. Gen (Pilot) Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Mannai, Chief of Staff of Qatar Armed Forces, Qatari Armed Forces completed the evaluations for joining the operational compatibility program.
The State Of Qatar is the only country in the Middle East to join the program, in addition to passing all the evaluation stages in record time compared to other forces from partner countries, whose period of obtaining the recognition certificate extends to 4 years. Qatar Armed Forces have completed the evaluations for joining the operational compatibility program within 18 months, the Air Transport Squadron (101) of Qatar Emiri Air Force passed all stages of evaluation and obtained a certificate of joining the operational compatibility program for NATO partner countries.
It is worth noting that Qatar Armed Forces participate in the program with (7) units according to the stages as follows: Qatar Emiri Land Forces (second self-evaluation stage SEL2), Qatar Emiri Air Forces (second NATO evaluation stage N EL2), Qatar Emiri Naval Forces (first self-evaluation stage SELI), Qatar Emiri Air Defense Forces (first self-evaluation stage SELI), the Military Police Forces (second self evaluation stage SEL2), and the Joint Special Forces (first self-evaluation stage SELI), in addition to the Unit of Defense Against Weapons of Mass Destruction.
The operational compatibility program is also scheduled to start in 2026.
