His Excellency Dr. Khalid bin Mohammad Al-Attiyah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs, participated in a dialogue session within the work of the nineteenth Shangri-La Dialogue currently being held in the Republic of Singapore, entitled “Developing new models of security cooperation”.
During his speech during the session, His Excellency talked about the most prominent sporting event of this year represented by the State of Qatar hosting the FIFA World Cup (Qatar 2022), and emphasizing the impact of sport as a real source of diplomatic inspiration and teamwork.
His Excellency also stressed the necessity of coordinating security cooperation by following a comprehensive approach, and building the security capabilities of all countries rather than limiting them to some countries only, in order to achieve comprehensive and sustainable security.
During the speech, His Excellency referred to the balanced and reliable political, economic and defense role of the State of Qatar at the global level, as it stems from the Qatar National Vision 2030, which focuses on serving the interests of global cohesion and peace.
It is worth noting that the Shangri-La Dialogue is a governmental security summit, held annually by the International Institute for Strategic Studies, with the participation of a large number of prime ministers, ministers and leaders in various fields.
