Under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Khalid bin Mohammad Al Attiyah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs, and in the presence of His Excellency Lieutenant-General (Pilot) Salem bin Hamad bin Aqeel Al Nabit, Chief of Staff of the Qatar Armed Forces, the training ship for candidates “Al Shamal” arrived this morning from the sisterly Republic of Turkey.
The ceremony included an inspection tour of the Chief of Staff of the Qatari Armed Forces on board the training ship “Al Shamal”, during which a briefing was given about the trip, the ship’s sections and its equipment.
It is worth noting that the ship was inaugurated in February of this year, in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Khalid bin Mohammad Al-Attiyah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs, at the headquarters of Anatolia Shipbuilding Company (ANADOLU SHIPYARD).
The candidate training ship “Al-Shamal” is one of the largest training ships in the world, and will constitute an important tributary for the practical training of the candidate students at the Mohammed bin Ghanem Al-Ghanim Naval Academy, through the high training capabilities and techniques provided by the ship.
During the course of the voyage, the ship received nearly eighty candidates from the Mohammed bin Ghanem Al-Ghanim Naval Academy, where they received theoretical and practical lessons that included entry and exit procedures from ports, navigation, and peace procedures.
