Under the patronage of His Excellency President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of the Republic of Turkey, and in the attendance of H. E. Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al-Thani, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs, the Turkish (BMC) armored vehicles and heavy engines factory was inaugurated in the Turkish capital, Ankara, with a 49.9% Qatari partnership represented by Barzan Holdings Group.
This Qatari-Turkish partnership comes within the framework of enhancing industrial and defense cooperation between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Turkey, contributing to the development of defense capabilities and military industries in the two brotherly countries.
The factory is a joint strategic project, as it will witness the production of the first (Altay) tank, which represents a qualitative shift in the defense industries. A number of Qatar Armed Forces senior officers accompanied H. E. during the inauguration ceremony.
