Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs kicks off field tour to ensure readiness of Joint Special Forces and Military Police to secure FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022

As part of the Qatari Ministry of Defence’s preparations to host the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, H.E. Dr. Khalid bin Mohammad Al-Attiya, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs, paid a field visit to ensure the readiness of Joint Special Forces and the Military Police to secure the tournament.

The visit was part of an inspection tour during which H.E. the Deputy Prime Minister was briefed on the land forces’ preparations to secure the global event.

H.E. Dr. Al-Attiya was accompanied during the tour by H.E. Lieutenant-General (Pilot) Salem bin Hamad bin Aqeel Al-Nabit, Chief of Staff of the Qatar Armed Forces, H.E. Major General (Pilot) Mohammed Abdullatif Al-Mannai, Advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs and Chairperson of the Ministry of Defence’s executive committee for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, and H.E. Major General Saeed Hsain Al-Khayarin, Combined Joint Task Force Commander for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, along with a number of senior Qatari officers.
